AUDITIONS

Hello, and thank you for showing interest in auditioning to join our society this year. All the details of how to audition, where to go, and what to audition for are below. Contact Annis, the society secretary to book your audition for the dates 27th September-1st October at luums.secretary@gmail.com !

WHERE 

Auditions will be held in the music school basement this year. Watch the video to find out where to go.

You will be required to:

-Perform one (unaccompanied) piece (around 2 mins)

-A sight-reading exercise

-Answer a few questions by the friendly student audition panel.

We offer 1 ensemble that you can be part of:

  1. Composers Collective - a small group of composers collaborating and discussing ideas https://www.luums.org/composers-ensemble

ENSEMBLES

There are 4 auditioned ensembles; Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Orchestra, String Orchestra, and Chamber Choir. The requirements for all of these ensembles are the same.

Q. Can I audition for more than one ensemble?

A. Yes you can! Simply sign up for one audition per instrument per ensemble - you can audition for more than one instrument per ensemble too if you like. 

​

Q. When do I pay my membership fee? 

A. You will have one month to pay this online.
